ChickFPC - browsing the chicken FPC database

The data accompagnying the article "A physical map of chicken (Gallus gallus)" in Nature.

Data source

Chicken FPC database built by Genome Sequencing Centre at Washington University (StLouis, MO) and Wageningen University (The Netherlands). This browser is based on the FPC database of January 15, 2004.

Clones originate from different clone libraries:

Marker names are sometimes preceded by a number and underscore. In these cases, the marker is genetically mapped to the chromosome indicated by the number.

Singleton clones are grouped into one big contig: 'ctg0'.

Instructions

Use the 'Landmark or Region' box to search for specific objects. These can be contig names (e.g. ctg39101), clone names (e.g. bW104A03) or marker names (e.g. MCW0292). The name may optionally be preceded by the type (i.e. 'Sequence' (instead of 'Contig'), 'Clone', 'BAC' or 'Marker').

The wildcard character '*' is allowed. Using the search string 'bW058*', all Wageningen clones that are located in plate 58 will be returned.

Example: to list all contigs with markers that are genetically mapped to chicken chromosome 2, type 'Marker:2_*'.
